HP Distribution, LLC is the evolution of over 50 years of transportation experience from the Cunningham family. It began with a truck stop and a small fleet of fuel transports in Southwest Kansas.
During the 70's when fuel was in short supply and being allocated, the fleet transported fuels directly from terminals located in the Central United States to convenience stores and power plants as well as supplying fuel for the affiliated Hitch'n Post Truck and Auto Plaza (formally known as The Dodge City Truck Stop.)
In 1977 a fire broke out on a Sunday morning while many citizens of Dodge City were enjoying the traditional Sunday family breakfast/lunch in the restaurant. The Truck Stop was destroyed and luckily there was nobody hurt except a city fire fighter and a civil defense fire fighter who decided to get in a brawl over who had jurisdiction to fight the fire.
HP Companies entered the refrigerated transportation business in 1999. The primary transportation was the distribution of fresh poultry products for more than 350 national fast food restaurants through out the Central United States. The transportation of beef and poultry was also provided to the companies affiliated production facility located in Kansas City.
HP Distribution, LLP was founded in 2003 and began expanding the refrigerated distribution business into OTR transportation throughout the 48 continental states. The expansion took on a customer base of national accounts in various areas of the refrigerated food business. Primary commodities transported were fresh poultry, beef and pork, ice cream and various frozen foods.
In May of 2012, HP Distribution, LLC was incorporated by Tanner Cunningham, the grandson of the original founder of the HP companies, Larry Cunningham. There is a combined total of more than 100 years of experience within HP Distribution, LLC's management team.
